Churches’ International Student Network (CTBI)

Formerly an independent charity, the CISN is now a work area in Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI).

CISN exists to promote, both within and on behalf of the Churches, the interests of international students studying in Britain and Ireland.

CISN does this by:

  • Co-ordinating and enabling the work of the churches in this field
  • Advocacy on behalf of international students
  • Providing consultancy to international students and those working with them
  • Liaising with relevant government and non-governmental organizations
  • Providing a Hardship Fund
  • Managing World Council of Churches scholarships in Britain and Ireland

CISN links with:

  • Foreign and Commonwealth Office; Home Office; Joint Entry Clearance Unit
  • Africa Educational Trust; Association of Commonwealth Universities; British Council; Commonwealth Scholarships Commission; Educational Grants Advisory Service; HOST; Immigration Advisory Service; INFORM; Inter Faith Network for the UK; Irish Council for Overseas Students; London Conference on Overseas Students; UKCISA and Association of International Student Advisers; Universities UK; Womens Link.
